1. Cutting
Be sure to cut an exact direct edge to measure when you begin cutting strips of material, and be certain that your ruler is aligned with the folded rim of the fabric so that the fold is without a V effect.
2. Ironing
Always iron seams flat after stitching prior to pressing the seam section to one side, this will avert puckering.
3. Sewing
When coordinating seams be sure that the seams are pressed in reverse direction, the seam sections will harmonize correctly.
4. Quilting
When machine quilting even lines, be sure to utilize a walking foot. This will prevent any twisting and puckering of the fabric.
5. Binding
Whenever you make uninterrupted binding, be sure to sew the pieces together on the bias and not vertical.
